From the 1880’s to the 1910’s America’s own brand of Impressionism experienced a golden age, thriving in art colonies throughout the United States. This exhibition shines a light on several pivotal American Impressionists working in colonies in New England and New York. Included are works by Abbott Thayer, William Merritt Chase, Edmund Tarbell, Joseph Decamp, Irving Wiles, Frank Dumond, John F. Carlson and Marie Danforth Page.
